Additional CESG (income-based)

Extra 10 or 20 percentage points of CESG match on the first $500 of annual RESP contributions, for families with lower net income.

Eligibility

  • Family net income below thresholds (approximately $56,000 for +20%; $56,000–$111,000 for +10% in 2026)
  • Beneficiary under 18
  • RESP provider must submit correct forms

Limits and rules

  • +20 percentage points on first $500/year = extra $100/year match
  • +10 percentage points on first $500/year = extra $50/year match
  • Counts toward the $7,200 lifetime CESG cap
  • Income thresholds indexed annually; confirm current year
